David Seith has studied the needs of low-income families and policies designed to help them for more than ten years at four national research centers, which in addition to the National Center for Children in Poverty include: the National Opinion Research Center and the Chapin Hall Center for Children at the University of Chicago, and MDRC, an independent social policy research center in New York City. David has published quantitative research on poverty and neighborhood distress in four metropolitan areas following welfare reform; qualitative research on the implementation of welfare reform in TANF offices in Cleveland, Miami, and Philadelphia; policy simulations of the interaction between work supports and increasing earnings in a national career advancement program, and a mixed methods assessment of Camden’s progress toward growth and equality following a major redevelopment effort. David has a bachelor's degree in sociology and is a candidate in the Executive Masters of Public Policy and Administration at the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
