Jodie Briggs researches state and federal policies that promote the economic security and well-being of low-income children and their families. She contributes to the Making Work Supports Work initiative, which analyzes the current patchwork of federal and state programs that assist low-income working families and explores policy alternatives; the initiative builds on NCCP’s Family Resource Simulator. Jodie also participates in NCCP’s communications and outreach work and assists with NCCP’s responses to media requests.
Jodie brings a range of policy and communication experience to NCCP. A former AmeriCorps* VISTA member, Jodie has worked for several social policy and nonprofit organizations, including SEEDCO, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Teach for America. She also worked as a reporter for the San Antonio Current.
Jodie holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in History from Wake Forest University.
