Kentucky Family Resource Simulator/Benefit Cliff Project

NCCP, in collaboration with the Kentucky Center for Statistics (KYSTATS), was recently awarded a contract by the Commonwealth of Kentucky to complete research on the effects of benefit cliffs and assess potential policy changes that can mitigate or remove those cliffs. The teams will work together to implement updates to the Kentucky Family Resource Simulator NCCP co-developed in 2020, and also analyze benefit cliffs through a novel economic model based on a microsimulation approach, aimed at both measuring the population-level impacts of benefit cliffs as well as potential policy changes.
