In 2011, NCCP completed a California Family Resource Simulator (FRS) and Basic Needs Budget Calculator (BNBC). The FRS illustrates the impact of government benefits such as food stamps and child care assistance on the budget of a hypothetical family, as earnings change, while the BNBC illustrates the amount of earnings that families need to meet basic needs without these supports.
