This brief, produced by GEEARS and NCCP, examines the concept of infant-early childhood mental health and its role in key child outcomes, including school success. Several examples of IECMH innovations in other states are described such as: the use of DC:0-5 for diagnosis of mental health conditions, Medicaid coverage of dyadic treatment and parenting programs and the use of IECMH consultation in home visiting and Part C Early Intervention. The brief provides recommendations for an expansion of IECMH supports in Georgia, with a focus on infants and toddlers. [See also PRiSM for more examples of IECMH state policies and scaled initiatives.]
